Go / No-Go Decision Aid

Enter today's ceiling, visibility, wind, and field, and check each factor against your own personal minimums. Every input is banded green, amber, or red — comfortable, inside your margin, or over the limit — and the most restrictive band sets an overall GO, CAUTION, or NO-GO. The crosswind component and density altitude are worked out for you from the wind, runway heading, and field data.

The method is the point: a value bands amber once it enters the last 20% before your limit and red when it crosses, and an unknown factor never bands green. The seeded minimums are a common light-single starting point — edit them to your airplane and your comfort. This is a decision aid for training and aeronautical decision-making, not a dispatch tool or a substitute for official weather and your own judgment.

Conditions

Enter the current weather and field. Wind direction and runway heading must share a reference — both magnetic (as tower reports and the runway number use) or both true.

Crosswind is the wind speed times the sine of the angle between the wind and the runway (the gust component is checked too); density altitude is pressure altitude corrected for temperature. Leave a field blank to mark it unknown — an unknown factor bands amber, never green.

These seed a common light-single starting point — set your own. Each factor bands amber inside the last 20% before its limit and red once it is crossed.
