PPL Checkride Ready
The run-up before your checkride: everything to have done, current, and in hand before you meet the examiner. Tick the boxes here, or print it and mark it up. Your POH, the current FAA publications, and your CFI outrank this sheet.
1 · Paperwork — you
what has to be on your person
2 · Paperwork — the airplane
what has to be aboard, and what you must be able to show
3 · The night before
the work that cannot be done in the morning
4 · The morning of
decided on the ground
Work the items, don't just tick them
- The § 91.213(d) flow — for the open-squawk row — walk the four-part gate on a real inop item
- Weight & balance — compute exam-day loading against the real envelope
- Takeoff & landing performance — run the POH numbers for the actual runway and conditions
- Personal Minimums Sheet — the numbers the morning-of row asks you to compare against
- Readiness check — 24 questions, no account — find the knowledge gaps before the DPE does
Sources. Every item is condensed from material verified against primary sources for the RunupLab study guide (chapters 1, 2, 5, 7 and 14). The citations are pointers to where a row comes from — check the current regulation before you rely on one.
This is a study aid, not an endorsement. A completed checklist is not the § 61.39 / § 61.103 prerequisites and does not replace your CFI's judgment that you are ready.
