Density altitude
Pressure altitude corrected for nonstandard temperature (FAA-H-8083-25C ch 11), computed with the same standard-atmosphere inversion that drives the density-altitude sim — not the 120 ft/°C rule of thumb.
Reading the screen: cyan is a value you entered, green is a computed result, amber means a field still needs input or the entry needs a CHECK. SOLVED lights when every result is computed; STO keeps a value to reuse in another function; the line-select keys beside the screen pick the field the keypad edits.
Pressure altitude corrected for nonstandard temperature (FAA-H-8083-25C ch 11), computed with the same standard-atmosphere inversion that drives the density-altitude sim — not the 120 ft/°C rule of thumb. TAS scales CAS by 1/√σ at the density altitude. Worked example: a PA-28 at a 5,000 ft field, 30.10 inHg and a 30 °C afternoon is already at 7,583 ft density altitude.
