MACH → TAS (ACTUAL)7/32SOLVED
M
°C
ASSUMES K=1.0

How this is computed

Labeled assumption Assumes full temperature-probe recovery (K = 1.0), matching the CX-3's Actual modes. Real probes recover less than 100% of ram rise, so derived OAT and TAS shift slightly with the installation.

TAS from cruise Mach and the probe's total air temperature; static OAT is backed out of the ram rise. Reproduces the ASA CX-3 manual's Actual Mach example (M 0.82, −20 °C TAT → 477.3 kt, −58 °F OAT) with the K = 1.0 recovery the CX-3 implies.
