How this is computed
The classic E6B wind side: given course, TAS, and the wind, find the heading to crab and the groundspeed that results. Standard vector decomposition (heading and course share one reference — both true or both magnetic); pinned by scripts/test-tools-core.ts. A 25 kt wind 50° off the nose of a 120 kt airplane costs about 18 kt of groundspeed and 9° of crab.
